Leonardo da Vinci was an Italian Renaissance painter, inventor, sculptor, and architect, just to name a few of his many talents.
Codex on the Flight of Birds Edit
Hidden within Leonardo's Codex on the Flight of Birds is a self-portrait of the artist as a young man. This went unnoticed for approximately 500 years before someone noticed what appeared to be a nose between the lines of text. Removing the text and applying some modern technology revealed the face beneath.
The Last Supper Edit
The Last Supper is one of da Vinc's best known works. It depicts the last supper of Jesus Christ and all his Disciples. Hidden within, however, are several meanings.
Taking the position of the dinner rolls, as well as the hands of Christ and his Disciples, and placing them on a musical staff reveals a hidden musical score. The harmony is so perfect that most scholars agree it is intentional.
